Peterborough Archives Services is pleased to offer a wide selection of original material. Whether you’re a seasoned user of our archives or just getting started, every member of the archives team is willing to help guide your research. We welcome enquiries via email: archives.service@peterboroughlimited.co.uk , by telephone 01733 864160 and in person.

Our research room and local studies lending and reference library is open to the public during normal library hours, except for Wednesdays when our team and volunteers tackle cataloguing projects. If you like to speak with a member of the archives team, we recommend attending when the research room is staffed (10am-1pm Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri).

We have finding aids to help anyone begin their research. Our ‘A-Z Guide to Archive Material Relating to Peterborough’ is a great place to start. We have more specific guides as well, such as the ‘Buckles Map Collection’, ‘Peterborough Businesses’, ‘Villages’, ‘Union Archives’ and many more.
