A novel idea from Peterborough Libraries.

Posted on: 27/03/2023

Peterborough Libraries have launched Micro Libraries – an accessible, small but varied display of books ready to be issued out on loan.

Next time you are walking through Queensgate, or enjoying at coffee at Peterborough Museum’s Squires Coffee House, you might just spot one of these cute Micro Libraries. The Micro Libraries have been installed in a number of locations around the city, to reach new people and spark a love of reading.

They are stocked with popular favourites and best-selling authors for adults and children, so there’s sure to be a page-turner for everyone to enjoy. Each mini library will be regularly refreshed to encourage book lovers back again and again.

With any smartphone it’s quick and easy to register to Peterborough Libraries and borrow your chosen book – and better yet it’s completely free! Simply follow the onsite instructions and before you know it you’ll be at home, sitting back and enjoying a new read.
