Your Peterborough Libraries membership card can be used at all Peterborough Libraries.
Borrowing and renewing
Please bring your library card with you whenever you borrow items.
You can borrow up to 12 items at any one time. Items can be borrowed from and returned to any Peterborough Libraries branch.
Loans can be renewed up to three times, provided the item has not been reserved by another customer. Renewals can be made:
- Online
- At any Peterborough Libraries branch
- By telephone during library opening hours
When contacting us about your account, please have your library card number ready.
Reservations and Inter-library loans
If the item you're looking for is on loan, available at another Peterborough Libraries branch or held by another library service, you can place a reservation or request an inter-library loan. Charges apply for these services.
Reservations can be made:
- Through the Peterborough Libraries online catalogue
- Using the public access computers in our libraries
- With assistance from a member of staff
Please note that reservation fees, inter-library loan charges and replacement library card fees are non-refundable.
Overdue, lost or damaged items
Membership may be temporarily suspended if your account exceeds the limits for overdue items or outstanding charges.
Overdue notices are sent as a courtesy reminder. You remain responsible for returning borrowed items, even if you do not receive a reminder.
If items are lost or damaged while on loan to you, you may be required to reimburse the library for any associated costs.
Changes to your details
Please let us know as soon as possible if you change your name or address so we can keep your membership details up to date.
Lost library cards
If your library card is lost or stolen, please report it to the library immediately. You remain responsible for any items borrowed using your card until the loss has been reported.
Your privacy
Your membership information is held and managed in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
