Marvellous Makers!

Marvellous Makers are coming to your local library!

The Summer Reading Challenge 2024 will launch in all Peterborough Libraries and on the Mobile Library on Saturday 6 July 2024. This year, the Reading Agency have partnered with charity Create to develop a challenge that will fire up children's imaginations and unleash storytelling and creativity through the power of reading.

The Summer Reading Challenge is a great, free programme to keep children reading through the summer holidays. By registering at any Peterborough Library from 6 July and borrowing and reading at least six library books through the summer, children can become a Marvellous Maker, earning a certificate and bookmark and collecting stickers along the way.

As part of the challenge, you can become a Marvellous Maker at Peterborough libraries over the summer holidays. Get creative and inspired by a range of books and authors, create your own book covers, write stories and enjoy book related crafts.
